To me this quote is about give and take in relationships. My take on it is that Maya’s advice is not to be willing to settle for the crumbs of what someone can offer you when you are willing to offer them a cake. She is making a point that you deserve more than being someone’s last resort. She is saying to offer your love where it will be appreciated. Walking away from the one that offers the crumbs is honoring yourself and knowing your worth:)
